  • 1 Reynolds® Slow Cooker Liner
  • 3 to 4 pound whole chicken
  • 1 teaspoon each dried basil and seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon each pepper and garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemonjuice
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted


Step 1

OPEN slow cooker liner and place it inside a 5- to 6 1/2 -quart slow cooker bowl. Fit liner snugly against the bottom and sides of bowl; pull top of liner over rim of bowl.

Step 2

PLACE chicken in slow cooker liner. Mix seasonings; sprinkle 1 teaspoon mixture into chicken cavity. Sprinkle remaining seasonings over chicken. Drizzle with lemon juice and butter. Place lid on slow cooker.

Step 3

COOK on LOW for 5 to 6 hours OR on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours or until meat thermometer inserted into thickest part of chicken thigh not touching bone reads 180°F.

Step 4

CAREFULLY remove lid to allow steam to escape. Place chicken on a platter to slice and serve. Do not lift or transport liner with food inside. Cool slow cooker completely; remove liner and toss.

Step 5

REYNOLDS KITCHEN TIP:To reduce fat and calories, remove skin from chicken before eating.
